International Winter / Summer University Kassel, Germany
With the motto "Sustainable Environment | Cultural Heritage | Student Potential. WE CARE”, the International Winter University (IWU) and the International Summer University (ISU) Kassel feature the strengths of the University of Kassel in environmental sciences and German language & culture.
Centrally located in the picturesque city of Kassel, where the Brothers Grimm collected the famous "Grimm’s Fairy Tales” and Arnold Bode initiated the world famous contemporary art exhibition "documenta”, Uni Kassel holds some of the most significant cultural heritage in Germany and is therefore an ideal place for studying German language and culture.
Being a young and dynamic university founded in 1971, Uni Kassel also plays a leading role in environmental engineering in Germany through its active involvement in academic research and knowledge transfer. Graduates of the environmental science programs of the University have been movers and shakers of renewable energy development worldwide.
IWU and ISU Kassel now invite students from around the world to personally experience the strength and uniqueness of Uni Kassel showcased in the intensive programs taught in English (optionally in German). With an admission of around 60 students per program, it is the uniqueness of IWU and ISU that the visiting students are fully integrated into the local community. Students will be engaged not only in inspiring academic seminars, but also multifarious cultural and social activities. The joint efforts of the organizing teams, teaching staff, host families and tandem partners have constantly won the hearts and minds of the participants by taking care of the individual needs and potentials of the students. Ulm University is launching the innovative international postgraduate Master Online Study Program Advanced Oncology. The modulated program aims at oncologists as well as employees of the pharmaceutical industry in the field of oncology.

TropHEE - Master Program at TU-Darmstadt
The technical university - Darmstadt offers a master program to bachelor graduates and professionals called "Tropical Hydrogeology, Engineering Geology and Environmental Management" (TropHEE).
TropHEE is an international master study program in english language with orientation towards "applied geoengeneering sciences". It has been conceived for students who want to work in the tropics, subtropics and seminarid areas in high management or project positions.
TropHEE is situated at the technical university - Darmstadt, faculty for "applied geoengeneering sciences". DAAD scholars participate in the program as well.

Learn the German language via the internet: With DUO you can learn the German language online - easy and effective. When you're a student, scientist or manager, the DUO German - courses online will equip you with important know-how and language knowledge. The DUO lessons will prepare you for your stay in germany optimally.
For already half a year the German University Online provides DAAD scholars with free German language courses.
This offer is valid for scholars who participate at a DAAD-schoolarship program which lasts 6 months and longer. The learning happens at home with the assitance of experienced online tutors. More and more scholarship holders sign in for a DUO German course online on http://www.deutsch-uni.com/daad.
SLE plus: Berlin for International Development Cooperation
The SLE plus: Berlin Training for International Development Cooperation at Humboldt-University Berlin is offering three short term courses which are accompanied by a framework programme that provides participants with the opportunity to become familiar with scholarly discussions in the area of development cooperation, and to meet with representatives of German governmental and non-governmental organisations active in the field of development cooperation.
The SLE at the Humboldt-University Berlin has been training young postgraduates from all fields in international development cooperation and management for over four decades. More than 800 people have graduated from the SLE, and are now working in international development cooperation for private, international, and bilateral agencies.
The SLE is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and the Senate of Berlin.

Launch of a new program in Public Policy and Good Governance
On 28 January, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) celebrates, at the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin, the launch of its new program in Public Policy and Good Governance (PPGG).
Thus, the DAAD would provide targeted support for good governance in Africa, Latin America, South Asia, Southeast Asia and the countries of the Middle East and to strenghten civil societies.

Master study program at the Technical University Hamburg-Harburg
Since 1997 the Technical University Hamburg-Harburg (TUHH) offers master study programs in different fields of engineering in English and German language. By now approximately 900 students from all over the world have successfuly completed the challenging TUHH Master studies. The far over average study success rate is the result of careful selection procedures as well as excellent study conditions. The outstanding employment opportunities of the TUHH graduates in professions of engineering, in technology management as well as in science and research confirm the high education level.
Applicants should have at least a four year first university degree (bachelor or comparable) in a relevant field as well as an appropriate subject combination and very good study results (overall grade rate 75 percent). Technische Universität Kaiserslautern - International School for Graduate Studies (ISGS)
International & Interdisciplinary Master Program
"Commercial Vehicle Technology" (CVT)
The University of Kaiserslautern is the first university world wide to offer research-based tailormade postgraduate education exclusively focusing on commercial vehicle technology in co-operation with enterprises like Daimler, JohnDeere, Terex-Demag and other global players of the sector.
It is promoting research, innovation and technology transfer to the sector. The University, its graduate schools, research centers and partnering research institutes are among the leading networks in Europe with regard to graduate education, doctoral training, research and technology transfer in the field of commercial vehicle technology.
Thus, from winter term 2008 onwards, the University of Kaiserslautern offers an international and interdisciplinary Master program in "Commercial Vehicle Technology”.
The program is currently being accredited.

PhD-Program International Health by the Ludwig Maximilian University, Munich
The Center for International Health at Ludwig Maximilians-University (LMU), Munich was established in 2009 as an integrative institution for the coordination of already existing projects on development copperation and tropical disease research at LMU.
The CIHLMU-PhD-Program offers academic education and a research environment to scientists from developing countries, with special focus on the Millennium Development Goals. The duration of the program is three years, explicitly, starting in October every year.
The program language is English.Requirements:
- University degree in medicine, master degree in health related sciences
- Provision of research project, related to health and development, along with a supervisor, reliably committed to accompany the project over the whole period
- English proficiency
