GERSS - German-Egyptian Research Short term Scholarships
The German Egyptian Research Short term Scholarship GERSS is a program jointly funded by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MHESR) and the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst, Bonn (DAAD) in order to finance short term scholarships for young Egyptian scientists to travel to Germany. The target groups of the program are researchers enrolled in MSc, PhD programs and young Post Doctoral candidates. The scholarships may be awarded for a period from three to six months.
There are two calls for application annually:
Spring Call: Electronic application forms can be filled out as of 15th of March till 30th of April
Autumn Call: Electronic application forms can be filled out as of 1st of September till 15th of October

Leibniz – DAAD Research Fellowships 2012
Submission deadline: 20 March 2012
‘Leibniz-DAAD Research Fellowships’ is a programme implemented 2011 by the ‘Leibniz Association’ (Wissenschaftsgemeinschaft Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz) and the ‘German Academic Exchange Service’ (DAAD). The fellowships offer highly-qualified recent foreign postdocs the opportunity to conduct special research at institutes of the Leibniz Association in Germany.
Leibniz-DAAD Research Fellows can do their research at one of the Leibniz-Institutes which are covered in the following (five) sections:
Section A: Humanities and Educational Research/ Geisteswissenschaften und Bildungsforschung
Section B: Economics, Social and Spatial Sciences/Wirtschaft- und Sozialwissenschaften, Raumwissenschaften
Section C: Life Sciences/ Lebenswissenschaften
Section D: Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Engineering/ Mathematik, Natur- und Ingenieurwissenschaften
Section E: Environmental Research/Umweltwissenschaften

The Intensive Blended Learning University Leadership and Management Training Course (UNILEAD) in Germany
The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the University of Oldenburg in Germany and the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in Port Elizabeth / South Africa are jointly organizing the 5th call of UNILEAD program in Oldenburg / Germany. The intensive training program is part of the DIES program (Dialogue on Innovative Higher Education Strategies) which has been jointly coordinated by the DAAD and HRK (German Rectors’ Conference) since 2001.

Re-invitation Program for Former Scholarship Holders (1 – 3 months)
Objective
The Re-invitation Program helps the DAAD maintain contacts with its former scholarship holders (DAAD Alumni) who had studied in Germany for at least on year. DAAD Alumni can apply fo a re-invitation to Germany with the purpose of completing a research or work project at a state higher education institution or non-university research institute.
