DAAD-Medical Programme
Who can apply?
German higher education institutions who establish and accomplish measures
to further educate medical/dentistry students or physicians and dentists and to
facilitate their return to their native countries in cooperation with a higher
education institution from a developing country.
Which measures are fundable?
Measures that professionally prepare medical and dentistry students from
developing countries for an appropriate assignment in their home country.
Measures that will help the students, when returning, to be accompanied by a
university from their home country and measures that support alumni to
receive scientific support and management with the objective of a lifelong
further education and a continuing connection to Germany. These alumni are
essential as multipliers for the German economic and development co-
operation in the field of medicine.
For what time period and to what extent is funding provided?
Up to 120,000 € / year for the following measures:
• Partnerships with universities
max. 50,000 €/year (for south-south exchange in case of more than one
partner in developing countries additionally max. 25.000 €/year)
• Weekend workshops in Germany
max. 12,000 €/workshop
• Alumni further trainings in Germany or abroad
max. 60,000 €/event
• Internships in developing countries
Funding period ⇒ maximum 4 years.

German-Arab Master's Programme in the Field Water Resources Management - Summer 2009
In July 2009, the bi-cultural Master's Programme " Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM)", jointly organized by the Cologne University of Apllied Sciences and the University of Jordan, Amman, will be matriculating students for the third time. The programme is aimed at young professionals from Germany and the Arab countries of the Middle East who already hold a first university degree and includes study phases both in Germany and in Jordan....

International Master's degree program "Urban Agglomerations" at Frankfurt University of applied science
Each year in October the international Master Course "Urban Agglomerations” begins at Fachhochschule Frankfurt am Main – University of Applied Sciences. It is completely taught in English and runs over four semesters, leading to the internationally recognized "Master of Science (M.Sc.)” and opening the possibility of subsequent doctorate studies.
It is based on an interdisciplinary and international orientation, addressing graduates with a first academic degree in architecture, civil engineering, urban, regional, landscape or environmental planning, geo-informatics, or other planning-related disciplines as well as some professional experience.
In its specific aims, the course is primarily practically oriented, training and qualifying for a professional career and responsible position in the public, semi-public or private sector, such as urban and regional administration and local authorities. The overall conception is based on an integrated international orientation and aims to approach and solve complex urban problems of metropolitan and regional networks and agglomerations.
Application deadline is April 15th (September 15th for german applicants). The application has to be submitted to:

Please note: The study programme is subject to tution fees. These come to about 2650 € for each the first, second and third semester. In the fourth semester the total is 1050 €.

New e-learning German course at the University of Applied Sciences in Zittau/Görlitz
The University of Applied Sciences in Zittau/Görlitz offers a new e-learning project to young women/female students abroad who want to study in Germany a study course in technology or natural sciences.
This project is an e-learning German course which we will offer and which is free of costs (because it is promoted by the DAAD - German Academic Exchange Service) for the girls who want tot prepare for the Preparatory College or the study course at our University.
