German-Egyptian Long-Term Scholarship 8th GERLS Call 2016-20178th GERLS Call 2016-2017
The deadline for GERLS call 2016/17 passed and the announcement of the new call will be published soon.
The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education are happy to publish the 8th call of their joint funding programme GERLS. The target groups for this programme are young researchers who have been awarded their Master’s degree recently and would like to continue their PhD-related research in Germany. GERLS is a direct outcome of the German-Egyptian Year of Science and Technology 2007.
The deadline for application is 31st October 2015. The application will be online through the DAAD portal.

GERSS German-Egyptian Research Short-Term Scholarship
The GERSS program will be announced once a year. The next call for application is expected on 1st of November 2016 and the deadline on 15th of February 2017.The German Egyptian Research Short term Scholarship GERSS is a program jointly funded by the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) and the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst, Bonn (DAAD) in order to finance short term scholarships for young Egyptian scientists to travel to Germany. The target groups of the program are researchers enrolled in MSc, PhD programs and young Post-Doctoral candidates. The scholarships may be awarded for a period from three to six months.

DLR-DAAD Research Fellowships in the fields of Space, Aeronautics, Energy and Transportation Research
‘DLR – DAAD Research Fellowships’ is a new programme implemented by the ‘Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt’ (DLR) and the ‘German Academic Exchange Service’ (DAAD). DLR is Germany´s national research center for aeronautics and space. Its extensive research and development work in Aeronautics, Space, Transportation and Energy is integrated into national and international cooperative ventures. This special programme is intended for highly-qualified foreign doctoral and postdoctoral students as well as senior scientists. DLR-DAAD Fellowships offer outstanding scientists and researchers the opportunity to conduct special research at the institutes of the DLR in Germany.
DLR-DAAD Fellowships are defined and awarded on an individual basis. Each Fellowship announcement will indicate the specific qualification requirements and terms of the visit. Fellowships are always awarded for the length of the research stay in Germany. The host DLR Institute and the fellowship candidate will agree upon the length of this term.
