Internship in the branch
The DAAD office in Cairo receives a lot of applications and regularly employs interns from Germany.
In order to achieve a fruitful cooperational work which is in both sides' senses, there must be agreed upon a certain project in advance.
Special abilities which could be useful for us:
- experiences in empirical social research
- journalistic abilities
- special IT knowledge to create databases, statistics and presentations
- very good english knowledge
- experiences in the creation and maintenance of Websites
The interns should at least stay for three months, longer stays are recommended. Usually the interns have their own working office which is supplied with pc's. Interns will have the possibility to learn about the daily work of the Cairo office, like study advisory, coordination of programs, election sessions, visits at universities, cultural and academic events and so on.
We can also help you to find an accomodation and receive a visa. At the end of the internship we will provide a qualified internship certificate. Our interns are usually students or graduates. German as the native language is a requirement. Normally, the internship is not payed . In exceptional cases and in case of a longer stay, sometimes there is a possibility to provide a small salary out of project funds.
