DAAD Cairo Office

About us

The team of the DAAD office branch Cairo is looking forward to your visit

We tried to design our homepage in a way which makes it easier for you to find the information that you seek. Now, you not only get insights about the research and scientific landscape in germany and the arab world but also information about academic exchange possibilities between the two regions. Furthermore we provide you with information about extramural and cultural projects, events, possibilities to learn the German and Arabic language and links to our partner organizations.

In accordance with the words of Richard von Weizsäcker "Der Fortschritt ist in Sicht, wenn es uns gelingt, unseren Horizont Schritt für Schritt zu erweitern" we wish you a lot of fun when you explore our sites. We are always thankful about proposals or suggestions which help us to improve the quality of our services.

The DAAD office branch Cairo...

...is located on the Nile island Zamalek in the heart of Cairo. Since 1960, the German Academic Exchange Service has a branch in Egypt and thus offers its services there since 52 years. Not only Students, Researchers and Scientists profit from its advisory and consultant services, but also cultural interested travelers and locals often drop by.

The Cairo branch offers consultation on scholarships and funding possibilities and also holds various cultural acivities and events, such as lectures and conferences. Whatever concerns you, a scholarship, an interesting lecture or just general information about life in Egypt.

Taking a look into the office is always worthwhile!
