Germany Alumni Fair

Alumniportal

On the 12th and 13th of November 2008 the "Germany Alumni Fair” took place in Cairo subsequently to the "Science Year Follow Up" event which focuses on the further enhancement of the scientific and academic cooperation between Germany and Egypt.

The "Germany Alumni Fair” is a joint project of four German institutions working in the field of developmental cooperation: Inwent, DAAD, AGEF, GI and ZAV. It aims to create a long-standing communication and exchange of ideas of German Alumni -worldwide- among themselves and with Germany.

A starting point and working platform for this collaboration is the newly launched website "Alumni Portal Deutschland" (http://www.alumniportal-deutschland.org/), which aims at:

  • Building a worldwide network of German Alumni.
  • Serving as a contact platform for highly qualified German Alumni as well as for organizations, institutions and enterprises that are interested in international networking.
  • Acting as a job-agent for members of the Alumni community.
  • Promoting social contacts as well as professional and scientific training for the Alumni.

As a result, the "Alumni Portal Deutschland" will revive German Alumni contacts with Germany on the national, regional and international level and will encourage the contact of those who are technically, professionally or privately closely connected with Germany.

The "Alumni Portal Deutschland" was launched in Egypt during the "Germany Alumni Fair" where several German institutions participated with booths to offer German Alumni and other interested participants information on their work, including job vacancies. In addition, some of the organizations held workshops on different topics such as job search and career building, capacity building, German-Egyptian Networks….etc.

The "Germany Alumni Fair” took place at the Conference Center of the Cairo University.
