German Embassy
After the Second World War in the year 1952, diplomatic relations between the Federal Republic of Germany and the Arab Republic of Egypt were established.
For the first three years, the office was located in the in Garden City. In 1955, the German Embassy moved from Garden City to in Dokki.
At the end of the 1970s, the Federal Republic of Germany acquired a piece of land, measuring almost 6,000 sqm, on the . At the same time, plans were made for the construction of a new chancellor's office and residence for the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany.
Soon these plans were put into practice and after a construction period of almost two years, both the employees of the German Embassy moved into their new office rooms and the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany could move into the new residence located in in the district of Zamalek

Goethe Institute
The Goethe Institute is the cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany and is working worldwide. It supports the knowledge of the German language abroad and administers international cultural cooperation. It conveys a broad picture of Germany by providing information about cultural, societal and political life.

German Archaeological Institute (Deutsches Archäologisches Insitut)
Founded in 1907, the Deutsche Institut für ägyptische Altertumskunde became affiliated with the Deutsches Archäogisches Institut in 1929. The area of research of the department encompasses more than 8,000 years of history ranging from the oldest prehistoric pharaonic culture to the beginning of the Islamic Middle Ages.
