How can I find the right German research partner/supervisor and how can I get in contact with a German professor?

In order to be successful with your application for research funding/PhD studies, you will need a proof of contact with a German professor. Please read the leaflet on the DAAD homepage "guideline sv” which will give you some ideas of how to find and to get in touch with professors at German universities.

Can I choose the professor and university as I like?

You can work with any professor from a publicly funded university who is active in your field of research.

I haven´t found a supervisor yet. Can I hand in the application without an acceptance letter from a German professor and provide it at a later point of time?

Without an email or an acceptance letter your application can not be considered.
